Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics / NBA – The Wizards want to put an end to four-game losing streak on Tuesday evening when will meet the Cetics. The streak pushed them down at the eight place in the Eastern Conference but luckily for them they have already secured a place for themselves in the play-off, although it is not the same being seventh or eight, especially as if they ended up at the seventh place their first play-off opponent will be Boston Celtics. Begins: 11.04.2018 – 02:00 CET
The Wizards are eight in the Eastern Conference standings with 42 wins and 38 losses, but if we take a look at last 10 games the Wizards won just two of them. They don’t dominate when playing at home where they won 22 and lost 18 games. They played three games with Boston this season and all three were won by visiting team. The Wizards won the first game in Boston by 111-103, than the Celtics revenged with victory in Washington 110-104, while in the third one the Celtics were defeated at home 124-125. All games were very interesting and uncertain by the end, and now we expect a similar scenario.
The Wizards’ problem for some time now is injury of standard starter Wall, which is felt very much in their game. His absence is especially noticed in attack as Satoransky is not a type of player who would score 20 and more points on average. Coach Brooks was angry on the whole team after the latest defeat by the Hawks, as they didn’t want to pass the ball and instead they opted for long shots. The game was very important for the Wizards as if they succeeded their opponent in the first round of the play-off would be Boston, which is probably easier opponent than Toronto, 76ers and Cavs.
Probable lineups Washington Wizards: Satoransky, Beal, Porter Jr, Morris, Gortat
It seems that Boston doesn’t have luck with injuries of its best players this season. Firstly, at the beginning of season they couldn’t count on great shooter Heyward, while now they lost the strongest reinforcement Irving, who will skip the rest of season due to knee surgery. It was a great blow to team led by coach Stevens and, as we have already said, regardless that Boston will end the regular season at the second place in the Eastern Conference (current win/loss ratio is 54-26) it will be the most wanted opponent in the first round of the play-off.
Being without two best players the Celtics can hardly parry to other teams, especially those that prefer offensive. Just like the Wizards, Boston played the last game with the weakest team in the East, the Hawks, and lost. Besides two abovementioned players they lost in the game guard Smart, which is another handicap for the team. Great reinforcement this season is rookie Tatum, who could grow into a great player, and he can learn a lot from Irving and Hayward, once they return on basketball courts.
Probable lineups Boston Celtics: Rozier, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Bayness
Washington Wizards – Boston Celtics PICK
Boston’s coach Stevens had rested in significant degree standard starters in three out of last four games as the results wasn’t important since Boston’s second place is safe and sound. We believe that now against the Wizards he will do something similar, which the home team should exploit and win for them important victory.
Pick: Wizards -6.5 points
