Almost complete last season Bochum spent in lower part of the table and they were very often right above the relegation zone, and then just before the very end of the season, they managed to line nine matches without defeat and that launched them to upper part of the table so in the end they were on 6th position. In total, it was one modest season and they for sure want to be much better now.
They even changed their coach during season and after Atalan, Rasiejewski came to this team, and then in the middle of the championship Robin Dutt comes on the bench and considering that they made some good results right before the end of the season this expert will remain with them. When it comes to players, their biggest loss is midfielder Stoger leaving team, and substitute for him Sebastian Maier is now supposed to be in starting lineups. Also, Weilandt in now back in the team, and besides this there were not as much other traffic in Bochum this summer. Bandowski and Eisfeld are injured.
Probable lineups Bochum: Riemann – Celozzi, Hoogland, Leitsch, Danilo – Losilla, Tesche – R. Kruse, Maier, Sam – Hinterseer
Disastrously bad season for Cologne could not end any different that moving to the lower rank of the competition. This all happened absolutely unexpected after one very good season that brought them a placement to the Europa League, however, they did not do anything good there too. In the championship, they were in the relegation zone, from the beginning until the end, to be exact they were last on the table most of the time and only in one moment at the beginning of second part of the championship there was a bit of a hope for them that they might escape relegation and that did not happen.
They had a trust in coach Stoger for a long time, however, they fired him, and Stefan Ruthenbeck tried to save situation, but it didn’t help either. They now have nothing else to do but to try express comeback, although, a lot of their players have left the team that will now play in lower rank. Klunter, Maroh, Heintz and Olkowski left, also midfielders Jojic and Bittencourt, and attacker Osako as well. As reinforcement we might mention two midfielders Drexler and Schaub, new stopper Czichos, and their new coach is Markus Anfang.
Probable lineups Cologne: T. Horn – Risse, J. Mere, Czichos, J. Hector – S. Ozcan – Clemens, Schaub, Drexler, Guirassy – Cordoba
