Stuttgart is still undefeated but they drew twice alongside two victories. Bochum drew two times as well but it lost two other matches and that is why they have six points fewer than their hosts. Stuttgart didn’t lose first five matches this season but they still cannot be satisfied. They won Hans in Rostock in the DFB-Pokal and it was not an easy victory, while in the Bundesliga they won twice, both times at home. They drew two away matches; the first with Heidenheim, when they dropped 2-0 lead, while in the previous round they played a goalless draw with Aue.
Stuttgart won both home matches by 2-1 but it was much more difficult against St. Pauli, when they scored the winner in the last-minute. Regarding away match with Aue in the previous round, it is important to say that they had a player less in last 20 minutes so they should be happy with the draw. Left back Sosa was sent off and he cannot play now. Insua will replace him, Ascacibar returns to the midfield, while young Wamangituka goes in the top of attack.
Probable lineups VfB Stuttgart: Kobel – P. Stenzel, Kempf, Badstuber, Insua – Ascacibar, Karazor, Castro – Didavi – Gonzalez, Wamangituka
If we don’t count victory over lower-league team in the DFB-Pokal Bochum is still waiting for its first victory this season. Clearly, they expected more but for the time being they have to settle for only two points won at home. Interestingly, they drew both times by 3- 3, with Arminia and Wehen. They were losing 0-2 to Arminia, than they turned the result up-side down and then they received the third goal in injury time. They were losing 0-3 to Wehen but they managed to equalise, and the draw is valuable as a victory.
They lost away matches; they received three goals in Regensburg and scored only one so they were nowhere near a draw. They played the best defense against the toughest opponent so far. HSV defeated them in Hamburg by 1-0 but their attack totally underperformed in that match. Refreshments in the starting line-up in the last round were Pantovic and D. Blum, and they didn't make a name for themselves. Reservist Bapoh received a red card at the very end of match and he will certainly not play against Stuttgart. It is certain that there will be changes again, and we expect Baumgartner at the stopper position and Zoller in the midfield.
Probable lineups VfL Bochum: Riemann – Si. Lorenz, Decarli, Baumgartner, Soares – Janelt, Losilla – Zoller, Maier, D. Blum – Ganvoula
Betting Pick: VfB Stuttgart vs VfL Bochum
Stuttgart won both home matches played so far but not easily. This is perhaps a chance for a sound victory as Bochum didn’t start well the new season and plays poorly away matches where they have achieved practically nothing. It is not likely that the negative series of results will end right in Stuttgart.
Pick: Asian handicap -1 Stuttgart
Odds: 1.85 at bet365 (down to 1.75 can be played)
