African Cup of Nations / Madagascar vs Tunisia – Madagascar and Tunisia meet in the last quarter-final match of the African Cup of Nations. Game Madagascar vs Tunisia begins 11.07.2019 at 21:00 CET

Madagascar

Madagascar is without doubt the biggest surprise of this year’s African Cup of Nations as they reached the quarter-finals in their first and historical appearance. Victory in the group over Nigeria 2-0 was the first sign that they could be the big story of the African Cup of Nations 2019. Winning the first place in the Group B was the second sign in which they out of four matches won two and drew two games, both times by the same result 2-2.

After that they eliminated Congo in the round of 16 after better execution of penalties 4-2. One of Madagascar’s main players midfielder Arohasina Andriana- Rimanana has stated that his team didn’t say its last word as their objective is the semi-finals. Manager Nicolas Dupuis, who trained only French lower league teams before is already receiving numerous job offers.

Probable lineups Madagascar: Adrien-Metanire, Mombris, Razakanantenaina, Fontaine- Amada, Anicet, Nomenjanahary, Raveloson- Andriatsima, Andria.

Tunisia

In the previous round Tunisia, also after extra time and better execution of penalties, has eliminated Ghana, but the Tunisians scored both goals in the regular time that ended as 1-1. Tahe Khennissi scored in the 73rd minute for 1-0 but Rami Bedoui scored an own goal which equalised the result, and extended hope for Ghana.

Still, after the penalty shootout Tunisia deservedly went further as they were objectively a better team. It is interesting that all four matches they played at the African Cup of Nations have ended as draws; in the Group E, where they won the second place having three points, they drew with Angola and Mali with the same result, while match with Mauritania ended as a goalless draw.

Probable lineups Tunisia: Hassen- Kechrida, Meriah, Bronn, Haddadi-Skhiri, Sassi, Chaalali-Msakni, Badri, Khenissi.

Betting Pick: Madagascar vs Tunisia

Tunisia won the African Cup of Nations in 2004, while in the previous edition it was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Burkina Faso, which won by 2-0. This is Madagascar’s debut at the ACN and Tunisia is the favourite to win as they showed in four previous matches that they know how to play on result, and consequently we would play on their first victory at this tournament in the regular time.
