The reigning champion or more precisely the Italian champion in last eight years has started the new season with victory. Juventus wasn't exactly brilliant although it's nothing new that they don’t play the best at the beginning and then raise their form as the season progresses. They faced Parma, a team that crated them problems last season and this time Juventus won by only 1-0 after stopper Chiellini scored around middle of the first half.
It should also be said that new manager Sarri wasn’t on the bench as he was recovering from illness and that perhaps also affected Juventus’ performance; however, the most important was to win the first points. Regarding the team, there were no bigger surprises and perhaps it was expected that Dybala would get advantage over Higuain in the top of the attack. Other players who came this summer weren’t in the starting line-up and Rabiot came off the bench, while de Ligt and Danilo didn't play at all. Ramsey was out of action due to injury, and now the starting line-up will probably stay the same.
Probable lineups Juventus: Szczesny – De Sciglio, Bonucci, Chiellini, A. Sandro – Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi – Ronaldo, Higuain, D. Costa
Napoli played a difficult away match in the first round since it faced Fiorentina and it was the most attractive match of the round which ended as the Napolitans victory. Napoli received the first goal very early but it turned the result up-side down in the finish of the first half. At the beginning of the second part Napoli received the second goal and then took a lead again. They received the third goal before L. Insigne scored his final goal around middle of the second half that set the final result 3-4.
It is evident that Napoli has serious problem in defence although the biggest reinforcement brough this year is stopper Manolo, who came from Roma. He played together with Koulibaliy, whom they managed to keep, although many European big clubs wanted him. Di Lorenzo played at the right flank and that would be all regarding newcomers. The rest of the team comprise of tried and tested players and it seems that L. Insigne will be probably the biggest star, considering that he has already scored two goals. They are no injured players and this is good news for manager Ancelotti, who could now send Maksimovic at the right flank instead of above mentioned Di Lorenzo.
Probable lineups SSC Napoli: Meret – Maksimovic, Manolas, Koulibaly, Mario Rui – Allan, Zielinski – Callejon, Ruiz, L. Insigne – Mertens
Betting Pick: Juventus vs SSC Napoli
Neither of teams excelled in the first round but now this is the derby and we expect from Juventus to play better, especially as they are the hosts. Napoli showed weaknesses in defence and that could cost them dearly, and they anyway seems incapable to surprise their great rival, which is why we predict that the home team will win.
