Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors / NBA – The Warriors have already in the first match of the West finals shown why they are the current champions of the league, because they have managed to make a “break” and take the lead as guests with 1:0 in the series. As we announced, in an efficient match, the guests have come to an extremely important victory over the best team in the regular part of the season and they are entering in the second match full of confidence. Begins: 17.05.2017. – 03:00 CET
Houston has already blundered at the first hurdle when it comes to the “finals before the finals”. The match was equalized until the end of the third quarter, when the Warriors managed to “close” the best player of the Rockets, Harden, for a longer period of time and with a series of 12:2 separate themselves from the hosts. The Rockets without Harden could not find the right solution in the attack, though Paul and Gordon kept the team in recoverable backlog. Harden finished the match with 41 points, Paul added 23 with 11 rebounds, while Gordon scored 15 points.
Capela did not cope very well against low five of the Warriors, so Green universal stopped not only the Rocket’s center, but other wing players – Tucker and Mbah a Moute scored only 1 point together (during the regular part of the season against the Warriors they scored 30 points together!). Ariza had early problems with personal mistakes, so the complete attack was only hanging from the outside line. These are mainly the reasons for the defeat of the Rockets, though the main reason is the unsuccessful defence at Durant, but also Thompson, for whom they have “forgotten” what kind of shooter he is.
Probable lineups Houston Rockets: Paul, Harden, Ariza, Tucker, Capela
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors have made a brilliant score in the first match and it is certain that that win can be very motivating before the continuation of the series and another guest match. Coach Kerr decided to start the game without a classic center, and it is interesting that the whole match was played without the proper five. In fact, the complete starting lineup was made up of great shooters (Curry, Thompson, Durant) and excellent defenders (Iguodal and especially Green). Durant was the most efficient with 37 points, while Thomson has surprised us all (if we can say it like that), who scored 28 points (6 three-pointers).
The Warriors had a better shot from all positions (52.5 percent of the total), the Rockets only allowed 18 assists throughout the match, and it seems a little unbelievable that they received only 3 points from the break (on the other hand, the Warriors have scored 18 points). They broke the match in the already mentioned finish of the third quarter, but also at the beginning of the last part when they made 9:0 series. Curry has extended his NBA playoff record to 80 games in a row in which he scored at least one three-pointer.
Probable lineups Golden State Warriors: Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Durant, Green
Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors PICK
For the first time since 2014, the Warriors have no home court advantage in the playoff series, but that did not prevent them from mastering Rocket's away. They simply have a phenomenal attack (as well as Houston). So in this second match, we expect an efficient game from both teams and a fight for victory until the last seconds of the match.
