Germany vs Serbia / International – This is a friendly between two national teams that participated at the last year’s World Cup in Russia but neither of them has made a name for themselves. Elimination of Germany in the group phase was especially disappointing, while Serbia had the same fate. The Germans didn’t do much in the Nations League either, but Serbia was successful although having much weaker competition. The two teams met the last time at World Cup 2010 and then Serbia surprisingly won by 1-0.
Germany vs Serbia begins 20.03.2019 at 20:45 CET
This is a bad time for German national football team and many are rightly worried ahead of qualifications for the European Championship. No one wants to think about a failure as they have quite disappointed the nation in the previous period. They went to World Cup in Russia as reigning champions of the World but had returned home after only three matches played in the group phase. France and the Netherlands were their rivals in the Nations League and Germany won none of four matches with these teams.
Two home draws and two away defeats, including one in the Netherlands by sound 3-0. Since the end of World Cup in Russia the Germans won only two friendlies, with Peru and Russia. This match is the last check before the qualifications and manager Low has decided to make several changes in the team. He left out Bayern’s trio – Hummels, J. Boateng and T. Muller, just like Draxler, Cane and Stindl, and he invited three debutants; M. Eggestein, Stark and Klostermann.
Probable lineups Germany: Neuer – Ginter, Sule, Rudiger – Kehrer, Kimmich, T. Kroos, N. Schulz – Brandt, Ti. Werner, L. Sane
Fact that Serbia didn’t pass the group phase of the World Cup in Russia wasn’t a big surprise. They were favourites against Costa Rica but not exactly against Switzerland and definitely not against Brazil. Serbia lost those two matches and the World Cup ended for them. They turned their focus on the Nations League and they did well in it. The Serbs lost none out of six played matches and won four of them. They won objectively weaker rivals; Lithuania and Monte Negro and drew two times with the strongest competitor Romania.
Serbia won the first place in its group and have chance to reach the European Championship through the Nations League play-off. Still, they would prefer to do it through regular qualifications but it is not going to be easy. Their biggest rivals are European champion Portugal and Ukraine, and draw decided to play away first two games with these opponents. That is why the start is very important and match with the Germans should show how good they are although they have plenty of problems. Matic is injured and he is out of action just like Kostic, while Kolarov, Tadic and A. Mitrovic are lightly injured so it is a big question whom will manager Krstajic send on the pitch.
Probable lineups Serbia: Dmitrovic – Rukavina, Milenkovic, Veljkovic, Bogosavac – Maksimovic, Fejsa – Tadic, Milinkovic-Savic, Gacinovic – Prijovic
Germany vs Serbia PICK
It can be said that we have new Germany give all the changes in the national team, which is much younger and players have motive to prove themselves. Serbia has problem with injuries of key players and that is why we forecast its defeat in Wolfsburg.
