Dimitrov vs. Dzumhur / ATP London – In the first analysis from very strong tournament in London we will cover match between the second seed G. Dimitrovand the best Bosnian player D. Dzumhur. F. Lopez is the title defender, while all tennis fans are glad to again watch A. Murray. Begins: 19.06.2018 – 12:00 CET
Dimitrov had finished the previous season at the third place in the ATP rank list, where title won at the final tournament in London contributed a lot to his rating. In last six months Dimitrov’s rating went down for two positions but despite that we can say the Bulgarian is in fairly good shape. His win/loss ratio so far confirms previous statement and we can see that before the tournament in London Dimitrov win 18 and lost 11 matches.
Dimitrov won eight ATP titles in his career so far out of which even four last season. The most important were the above-mentioned title won at the final tournament in London and at the Masters title from Cincinati. The Bulgarian has won no titles this season, and he was the closes to that at the tournament in London, where he played against R. Federer in the final and lost.
Dzumhur reached the 28th place in the ATP list seven days ago and it is the best rating in his career so far. The rating was weaker for one place in previous seven days and Dzumhur came to London as World’s no. 29. It is interesting that the player reached the best rating in his career this season although he has negative win/loss ratio of 13 wins and even 16 losses.
The Bosnian players won two ATP titles in his career, both last year when he triumphed at tournaments in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Dzuhur played well at the Australian Open where he reached the third round in which he managed to win just five games against R. Nadal. Dzumhur couldn’t go further than the third round at the Roland Garros too, although he played much better and even had a match point against A. Zverev.
G. Dimitrov – D. Dzumhur PICK
There is no doubt that Dimitrov is a great favourite to win the match. The main reason for the statement is that Dzumhur traditionally plays the worst on grass courts. In previous two seasons Dzumhur played just six matches on grass courts and he won three and lost three. All this tells us that Dimitrov could reach the second round of the tournament in London without dropping a set.
