FC Torino vs AC Milan 26.09.2019 – Serie A

Serie A / FC Torino vs AC Milan – Torino and Milan have started the new season in a similar fashion but we can freely add that was a weak start. It is interesting that Torino has replaced Milan in the qualifications of the Europa League after Milan withdrew from the competition. Both teams won by six points in the Serie A, meaning they won two matches each and they have the same number of defeats. Torino won Milan at home last season by 2-0.

FC Torino

Torino started modestly the new season since their results in the Serie A are rather mediocre, while in the Europa League they couldn’t reach the group stage. They reached the play-off and Wolverhampton stopped them then. Torino lost both matches to the English team, but on the other hand they won first matches played in the Serie A. They defeated Sassuolo at home and Atalanta away scoring with ease in both matches.

They ruined everything in the third round when Lecce defeated them by 2-1 in Turin. After that came defeat by Sampdoria in the previous round and it was the first match in which they didn’t score as they lost by 1-0. Manager Mazzarri had replaced two stoppers and Zaza played in the top of the attack, but it didn't help. We expect new changes in the midfield now and Laxalt and Berenguer could be starters, while Verdi will play in the attack instead of Zaza.

Probable lineups FC Torino: Sirigu – Izzo, Lyanco, Bremer – de Silvestri, Baselli, Rincon, Laxalt, Berenguer – Verdi, Belotti

AC Milan

Milan deliberately forgone playing in the Europa League but for the time being that doesn’t do much good to them in the Serie A. They lost to Udinese at home right at the start of new season, after which they won twice by the minimal result, just like it was defeat in Udine. Their opponents were new Serie A members Brescia and Verona and it was logical to expect that they will easily win. It was particularly difficult in Verona where they had a player more on the pitch after only 20 minutes of match and again they struggled all the way till Piatek scored from the penalty in 68 minute.

After such poor results it could be assumed that it wouldn’t be easy for them in the city derby with Inter, which was played on last Saturday. They were the nominal hosts, however, that didn’t help much and they lost by 2-0. They received both goals in the second half and it was the second defeat in which they failed to score. Calabria couldn’t be seen at the right flank since he was suspened, while Leao was surprise in the top of the attack. Calabria is back now and will replace Conti at the right flank, while T. Hernandez will play instead of Rodriguez at the left flank. Bennacer could play instead of Biglie in the midfield he, and perhaps Rebic will be finally the starter.

Probable lineups AC Milan: G. Donnarumma – Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, T. Hernandez – Kessie, Bennacer, Calhanoglu – Suso, Rebic – Piatek

Betting Pick: FC Torino vs AC Milan

Torino and Milan played equally weakly so far and they didn’t draw. It seems that could happen right in their head-to-head, although we will give a slight advantage to the home team.
