Reaching the quarter-finals is realistically a good result for Porto and they shouldn’t be too unhappy if they get eliminated, although they secretly hope that can parry to the vice-champion of Europe. There is still chance to sensationally eliminate Liverpool but after the 1st leg and defeat of 2-0 it is much harder now. They missed several very good chances to score at Anfield which would significantly improve their chance to reach the semi-finals, and they received both goals in first half an hour.
We should add that Porto wasn’t complete in the first match as stopper Pepe and midfielder Herrera were suspended. Now, both of them are back in the team and Porto will be stronger as the only missing is forward Aboubakar. In the meantime Porto routinely won Portomonense 3-0 in the league where it continue to race with Benfica for the title.
