FC Barcelona

Barcelona again dominated the Spanish football scene this season and won the second champion title in a row, while its dominance in the Copa del Ray is even longer. The Catalans won the Cup in four previous seasons, and this is a chance to win the fifth consecutive title in it, while in total they already have 30 titles. However, Barcelona fans are not fully satisfied because they were greatly disappointed with performances of their team in the Champions League.

Somehow, everything is coming back to them in this competition and this time they were stopped in the semi-finals, although they won Liverpool at home by 3-0. It seems surreal that they lost the 2nd leg by 4-0, which was their first defeat in the Champions League this season. Barcelona will try to get some consolation from winning the Cup, although they will not be complete. Goalkeeper ter Stegen is injured and Cillessen goes on the goal instead, while Dembele and forward L. Suarez are out of action too.

Probable lineups FC Barcelona: Cillessen – S.Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, J. Alba – Busquets, Rakitic, Vidal – Malcom, Messi, Coutinho

This was a very good season for Valencia although they started it pretty badly and didn’t seem that will be happy at the end. First of all they should be happy with situation in La Liga as they managed to get hold of the fourth place and qualify for the Champions League next season. They played in it this season but couldn’t pass the group stage, so they continued in the Europa League where they reached the semi-finals. Arsenal stopped them, to whom they could not parry, although they managed to take first lead in both matches.

Valencia didn’t face overly strong rivals in the Copa del Rey, however, we should add that they struggled in almost all matches of the competition and were defeated twice on their way to the final. They have eliminated Betis in the semi-finals, but the Cup final will be played at their Benito Villamarin stadium so it is very likely that will not enjoy sympathy of the locals. In La Liga, Valencia struggled till the last moment to keep the fourth place and succeeded in it, thanks to three-game winning streak in last three rounds. Out of them they won two times away but the key moment away victory against Valladolid 0-2 in the last round. Valencia had problems with injuries but now the situation is much better. Stopper Garay has recovered and will be a starter.

Probable lineups Valencia: Domenech – Piccini, G. Paulista, Garay, Gaya – Parejo, Kondogbia, Soler, Guedes – Santi Mina, Rodrigo
