Eintracht Frankfurt vs Chelsea 02.05.2019 – Europa League

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Chelsea / Europa League – The two semi-finalists of the Europa League have in common that they defend the fourth place in their respective national championships in order to play in the Champions League next season. Also, Eintracht and Chelsea made the same results in previous three rounds and after victories in the Europa League they drew two times in a row in their national leagues, with which they dropped chance to strengthen grip over the fourth places. This is going to be their first ever match.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Chelsea begins 02.05.2019 at 21:00 CET

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht continues its battle on two fronts and it is visible that have problems in the finish of season. They themselves didn’t expect to go this far in the Europa League, where they reached the semi-finals, while on top of it comes a great battle in the Bundesliga. They have chance to qualify for the Champions League and it would pity to drop it, although tiredness starts to exert its toll and they don’t play as good as they used to. Proof for the statement is three-game winless streak in the league, out of which they lost one match, to Augsburg at home three rounds ago.

They drew two times in two previous rounds; they dropped triumph in Wolfsburg in the last minute, while in the previous round they played a goalless draw with Herta in Frankfurt. Their playful and offensive game is gone and they score with more and more difficulties, where objectively speaking goalkeeper Trapp has saved them from defeat by Hertha. Situation with injuries is the same, while Rebic cannot play due to suspension.

Probable lineups Eintracht Frankfurt: Trapp – Ndicka, Hinteregger, Hasebe – da Costa, Rode, G. Fernandes, Kostic – Gacinovic – Jovic, Paciencia

Chelsea

Chelsea is in similar situation like its hosts, although the English Premier League will play just two more rounds and Chelsea defends the fourth place and advantage of two points. That shouldn’t be a problem but they have to face tough Watford and go to Leicester, so there is no room for relaxation. They didn’t win in three previous rounds, however, objectively the only mishap was home draw with Burnley since they were supposed to win the match, but instead the result read at the end 2-2. Before that they lost away to Liverpool and that surprised no one, while in the previous round they won one point at Old Trafford.

Manchester United is one of teams that try to catch up with them so the draw was a good results, especially as Arsenal lost. The Blues had a bit easier task in the Europa Laague where in three rounds of the knockout phase they faced Malmo, Dynamo Kyiv and Slavia Prague, all palpably weaker teams. So, it was no wonder that Chelsea won all six matches with these teams where they received goals only against Slavia at home, when they had practically secured a place for themselves in the semi-finals. Rudiger has injured again and A. Christensen will play stopper instead.

Probable lineups Chelsea: Arrizabalaga – Azpilicueta, A. Christensen, D. Luiz, M. Alonso – Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek – Pedro, Giroud, E. Hazard

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Chelsea PICK

Eintracht struggles more and more and it is questionable can it wins another strong rival, regardless of the home-field advantage. Chelsea also have its share of problems and would probably be satisfied with one scored goal, which would give the Blues chance to resolve the situation at home. We forecast that both teams will score.

Pick: both teams to score
