Djokovic vs Anderson 17.11.2018 – ATP Finals London

Djokovic vs Anderson / ATP Finals London – N. Djokovic i K. Anderson will play the second semi-final match of the last tournament of the season. This is going to be their third head-to-head this season and Djokovic won previous two. Both players are in good shape, which is especially true for Djokovic, which is why we expect many attractive points and devastating services.

Djokovic vs Anderson begins 17.11.2018 at 21:00 CET

N. Djokovic

Djokovic had finished everything he needed to reach the semi-finals in first two rounds. The last match in the Group A against M. Cilic couldn’t change a thing. We have pointed at this possibility in our previous analysis as it was possible that all semi-finalists become know after afternoon’s match between Zverev and Isner, and that is exactly what has happened. Zverv won Isner without dropping a set, which left Djokovic at the first place in the Group A, while Cilic lost the last chance to reach the semi-finals.

It was an expected outcome for Djokovic as World’s no. 1 is in fantastic shape and is one of main favourites to win the title. Of course, tennis fans and audience in London expect to see Djokovic and Federer in the final, but Zverev and Anderson also have something to say about that, players who both made a very nice impression so far in London.

K. Anderson

Anderson deserves congratulations for his debut at the ATP Finals in London. If we can remember Anderson recently had problem with injuries that, just like some other players from the top of ATP list, significantly affect him. This and other results made this season show that the South African successfully overcome those problems. After first two rounds Anderson qualified for the semi-finals, and it came handy that he faced Federer in the last match of the group phase.

Anderson did the most of job in the first match against Thiem, and it is not needed to comment the second match with Nishikori since the Japanese won just one game. Accordingly, the last match of the group phase with Federer hadn’t had much importance but Anderson played it maximally correctly, with a bit weaker percentage of the first service and larger number of unforced errors.

Djokovic vs Anderson PICK

Anderson had managed to win Djokovic only once but on the other hand he suffered even seven defeats. The two players met twice this season, where one of matches was the final of Wimbledon. Djokovic easily won them but we should say that Anderson was exhausted with previous Marathon matches. The second match took place at recently finished Masters in Shaghai, which Djokovic also won 7-6, 6-3. Anderson did a good job here in London and can play the semi-final without pressure given that Nole is a great favourite to win. In accordance with that it is expected from Djokovic to win but Anderson could make the match uncertain, which is why we might see a bit larger number of games.
