OSC Lille vs SM Caen 29.11.2016 – Ligue 1

OSC Lille vs. SM Caen / Ligue 1 – This week all over the Europe are on schedule matches of national cups, while only the French Ligue 1 will play irregular 15th round. It starts with showdown between two teams positioned in lower part of standings, next-to-last Lille and 15th-placed Caen, which as three points more. The biggest problem for Caen ahead of this match is fact that they won just one point from seven away matches played so far this season, and they suffered even 11 consecutive defeats to Lille. Begins: 29.11.2016 – 19:00 CET

OSC Lille

Of course, all this suggests that Lille should win this derby of the rear, especially as they play at home, where they won all three matches this season in the Ligue 1. At the same time, with three new points Lille would have the same number of points as Caen and would probably escape the drop zone where they ended after recent series of three consecutive defeats. True, they can find excuse in fact they faced in that period favoured PSG and Lyon at home and lost by 1-0, while they also lost by the same result to Angers away.

Last weekend Lille finally end the negative series and drew with Nantes away 0-0, so coach Antonetti should be more pleased with performances of Lille’s defence, which is why we don’t expect any changes in that part of the team that will face Caen. On the other hand, in the midfield Sankhare should take his place after expiration of suspension, while experienced Amalfitano should get advantage on the right flank over not fully recovered Benia. Regarding those who are injured, on the list are midfielders Mavuba, and forwards Bautheac, Tallo and Mendes.

Probable lineups OSC Lille: Enyeama – Corchia, Soumaoro, Basa, Beria – Sankhare, Amadou – Amalfitano, Lopes, de Preville – Eder

SM Caen

Just like Lille, Caen won one point last weekend after they drew at home with Guingamp 1-1 although we believe their fans expected to see victory of their team, given it won in previous round currently leading Nice. Besides, we have said in the introduction that Caen has brought home from away matches just one point this season, so it is quite clear that play much better at home than where were defeated only by St. Etienne and reigning champion PSG.

Right because of that and abovementioned tradition in matches against Lille their coach Garande will definitely have plenty of problems to prepare Caen in the right way for coming away match, especially as they cannot count due to injuries on their first goalkeeper Vercoutre and standard stopper Yahie. On the injured list are from before defender Dabo and midfielders Diomande and Louis, while suspended defender Imorou cannot play against Lille.

Probable lineups SM Caen: Reulet – Da Silva, Ben Youssef, Adeoti – Guilbert, Delaplace, Feret, Bessat – Karamoh, Rodelin – Santini

OSC Lille – SM Caen PICK

Although Caen is currently better positioned in the Ligue 1 standings, we have decided to play on Lille’s victory in this derby of the rear mostly as the tradition is absolutely on their side, while Caen had managed to stay undefeated just once out of seven away matches this season.
